It can be tricky for companies to help donate to people in need if doing so has specific criteria. A common one, in the UK and elsewhere, is that of location.

“We are only able to donate these clothes outside the UK,” a London clothing company told us.

They were keen to make it work if at all possible, though, as they had a large amount of women’s clothing to give.

Happily, within the UK, a number of NGOs are able to collect such donations in support of their overseas work. In this case, half of the donation went to Nigerian women in poverty, and the balance to refugee women in Europe.
